5,6,7,8!

Ello :)

So recently (28/11/17) i went to see Steps in Nottingham. Steps is one of my all time favourite bands because their music is so catchy and feel good - steps was basically my childhood so when i got tickets to see them i was stoked!

This is kinda going to be like a mini review of the evening anda compilation of videos/pictures - we were quite far back so apologies for the poor quality of media.

1st Act: Max Restaino

Now as with most opening acts he wasn't very well known - he sounded good, promoted his album a bit too much if im honest but the songs were decent and catchy. The dancers seemed out of time with each other if im being honest and sometimes lacked sharpness in their movements and was a bit too fluid in their motions.

2nd Act: The Vengaboys

A classic 90s throwback - i felt like i was at a school disco- it was fantastic. the beginning of their set certainly promoted them and was rather entertaining. They sang their well known songs and did a cover of i gotta feeling by the black eyed peas - which was alright. The highlights were the vengabus song where literally everyone in the stadium was standing up and singing along to the song and boom boom boom - everyone was on their feet and they were the perfect act to open Steps as it really got you in the 90s vibe.

Steps:

The beginning was rather curious - it began with a cult like surrounding with all entering on in red capes - people were situated through the crowd with fire torches as they entered the stage, while steps appeared from the trap door to begin with Scared of the Dark which then fluently went onto Deeper Shade of Blue.

I know pretty much every single Steps dance so i was standing up for most of the night jamming away however i did find when steps sang songs from their newest album most people sat down and didn't really look like they were enjoying it - i think most were their for the classics - i was just there because i love Steps!

They did a small paso doble type section in the middle of the set which somehow manage to flow quite well into 5,6,7,8 - everyone was on their feet at this point! One of my favourite sections of the night was when they performed summer of love which has a very samba/salsa vibe and went into a very good small cover section of Despacito - sang by Lee and H - i loved this section because it really showed off the boys and sometimes i feel they are not shown off enough in the group - when this section finished a Love Wins came across the screen with a rainbow flag, at this point everyone was clapping and cheering. They finished the night with One for Sorrow and then proceeded with Tragedy as their encore - true bop classics and the best songs to get people on their feet!

That's it for today!

See you next time,
S xoxo
