I'm not a romanticist, I can't stand romantic films or chick flicks; they are way to soppy and are quite pointless to me, the storyline is on loop and I like films that make me think and that draws me in and i'm sorry to say it to those rom com fans out there but romance just doesn't do it for me give me a horror or action any day.
I love musicals but im more inclined to watch musicals such as Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera over the likes of Grease and Hairspray - them musicals are just a bit too cheesy for me. my favourite musical is Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, i grew up with it, i used to play it constantly when i was little so much so i played the video to death and i've seen every single uk production of Joseph since the age of 3 - pretty impressive huh?!
I like horror films but I will admit they are awfully repetitive and incredibly predictable, which is probably why I don't get scared by them - i have yet to watch a horror that scares me although I haven't seen the likes of the pet cemetary movies etc yet so who knows maybe they will be the ones. My best friend was scared by the woman in black - of all movies- which wasn't scary at all apart from maybe the crow- crows freak me out a bit in movies. I can't watch horror films on our movie nights as Lish hates them, so I only watch horror films on my own which I know is not a recommended thing to do but hasn't scared me yet so we are all good for now.
I'm a big fan of action films particularly superhero films as you probably gathered from my earlier post i'm a marvel/dc geek really. I have quite the collection of superhero films unfortunately i'm still missing a few :( I also really love biopics, I honestly am not sure why I like them so much I suppose it has something to do with the fact that they actually happened they are not fictionalised so they don't go all hollywood with lighting and stunts etc, they stick to the truth. As they also showcase something that has happened they are also easier to gain an emotional effect on me i'm more likely to tear up or cry at something that has actually happened then a romance film which has been fictionalised and over emphasised.
